About this directory

What this directory is

Gold Coast Child Care Guide is an independent directory covering 145 child care agencies across Gold Coast, Queensland. It exists for parents and carers trying to work out which local providers are worth calling first, whether they need long day care, family day care, nanny placement, or in-home support. Instead of asking you to scroll through scattered reviews on half a dozen sites, we pull the public facts about each business and line them up next to a plain-language read on recent Google reviews, so you can compare providers on the same terms.

How listings are built

Every listing starts with publicly available business information: address, hours, services offered, licensing details where published, and contact information. We then synthesise the sentiment and themes coming through in recent Google reviews to give a sense of what families are actually experiencing at each provider. We do not copy or republish review text. If you want to read reviews in full, we link out to the business’s Google listing so you can see the source yourself.

How rankings work

Rankings are earned. They come out of a published rubric applied consistently to the data and review signals we collect, not from opinion, negotiation, or how much a business spends with us. You can read exactly how scores are built on our methodology page. A business that appears low in its category isn’t being punished; it simply scored lower on the factors we measure that week.

Sponsorship, clearly separated

Some pages include sponsored placements. These are always labelled “Sponsored,” displayed separately from the earned rankings, and never allowed to change a provider’s score or position in the ranked list. A business can pay to be seen. It cannot pay to be ranked higher.

Corrections and what businesses can’t touch

If a listed business spots an error in its own details (a wrong phone number, outdated hours, a service it no longer offers) it can request a correction and we’ll update the facts. What it cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking position. That separation is the whole point of an independent directory.

Enquiries and referrals

Gold Coast Child Care Guide is an independent directory and comparison resource, and we also help connect families to providers. When you ask to be matched with care options, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that introduction. This never touches scores or earned rankings; the quote page you’d use for this spells out the arrangement in full.

Who’s behind it

This site is published by Scout Local Media, an independent Australian publisher (founded 2026) that builds practical local guides and directories to help people find trusted businesses while giving quality local operators better visibility online. Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Marcus Beck, Editor in Chief. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a “last verified” stamp so you can see it’s actively maintained rather than left to go stale.

Questions, corrections, or feedback can go to hello@scoutlocalmedia.com.au, or you can find more of Scout Local Media’s work at scoutlocalmedia.com.au.

FAQ

Can a child care business change its own ranking?
No. A listed business can correct factual details like hours or contact information, but it cannot edit its score, sentiment summary, or position in the rankings.
Does sponsorship affect where a provider ranks?
No. Sponsored placements are labelled clearly and shown separately from the earned rankings, and paying for a sponsored spot never changes a provider's rubric score.
How often is the data updated?
The directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
Does the site republish Google reviews?
We synthesise the themes and sentiment from recent Google reviews and link out to the business's Google listing, but we do not copy or republish review text.
What happens when I ask to be matched with a provider?
We pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may earn a referral fee for that introduction. This is separate from, and never influences, the earned rankings.
